HISTORY

FEMMUSIC began as much as an idea as a reality. An online magazine to focus exclusively on emerging women in music. Emerging women not just citywide, or statewide, but nationwide and worldwide. This is not a new concept, so what separates FEMMUSIC from others. FEMMUSIC is run by a man.

FEMMUSIC began in July, 1999, under a different name. Since then FEMMUSIC has grown and evolved. The current  issue always contains the following:

• Features - Articles and interviews with emerging women artists

• Reviews - Reviews of live performances

• CD Reviews - CD reviews of individual artists and bands

• Artist of the Month - A spotlight on one artist or band that stands out, or can't be featured in any other way

• Where Will You Be? - A preview section listing performers' shows around the nation

• Where Were You? - Reviews of those obscure shows that no one attended, but everyone should have

In addition, FEMMUSIC is interactive. FEMMUSIC contains three separate bulletin boards that can act as forums, and news listings by and for women artists.

FEMMUSIC Colorado will be a list dedicated to the artists functioning in the Colorado region. Both lists will be unmoderated, and available through Onelist.com

FEMMUSIC Nation will be an open forum, and co-op for women artists nationwide.

FEMMUSIC will continue to seek out new ways to improve ourselves to help emerging women in music.
