One of the illest females I have ever been blessed to meet and listen to. A product of a musical household, she was exposed early on to the sweet sounds of funk, jazz, and go-go, this laid the musical groundwork for her future. Growing up in what some call the golden age of hiphop, she developed her spitting skills at an early term in her life. When Common dropped his classic album “Resurrection”, Naiea knew it was time. Time to start penning the ill-type lyricals intended to reach the minds of the masses. She started keeping her rhyme books, and recording over instrumentals on tape to share with her friends and comrades. She began her quest to be heard thru open mic venues and local battles. A networking natural, Naiea gained contacts throughout the hiphop underworld and began recording with people from all over the east coast. From Brooklyn to Atlanta, Naiea has built with and inspired many of the country’s underground elite. She has been featured on the same albums with such artists as MF DOOM, and Styles of Beyond. Currently she is striving to perfect her passion and stays in the vocal booth preparing to release her debut LP and a few 12” drops. Every so often, she can be found walking through the velvet curtain of those long DC summer nights, and blessing the mic wherever an open one might be. Diamond was nominated to attend the National Youth Conference in Washington, DC due to her academic standings. This young lady is an achiever. As an honor roll student. Diamond is the perfect role model for her fellow peers. Diamond is a perfect example that dreams do come true, with hard work and determination.
One of Diamond Songs "Big Girlz" has just been placed in a Movie Score. The Movie "Wool Cap" which stars line ups are William H. Macy , Don Rinkles, Ned Beatty, Catherine O'Hara and Keke Palmer the young girl who played Lathifa Niece in Barber Shop 2. This Aired on TNT November 21st 2004 and continues to run.
Diamond is also involved in Michael Whites second CD of "Solomon's Adventure "which is an Story telling CD for kids. This CD features on Air Radio Personality like WBLS Vaughn Harper ,Kiss FM Sheila , Regina Bell and a host of others.
