Jonatha Brooke is an artist who continues to get better with every new
release. Her newest Steady Pull
shows Brooke is as versatile as and as risqué as Alanis Morrissette or Melissa
Etheridge. Brooke, traditionally known as singer-songwriter comes across as a
rock musician accelerating past college charts.
Steady Pull grabs the
listener from the beginning and doesn’t stop. The opening track “Linger”
is about love and betrayal, and will be featured in Julie Johnson, a new film debuting at the
Sundance Film Festival. “How Deep is Your Love” follows mixing heavy sound
effects, and strong beats in a dance piece. The title track is a upbeat and
melodic weaving of voices as Brooke is joined by Michael Franti. Another guest
is Neil Finn who joins Brooke on “New Dress.”
Brooke will be running a number of special extras available only on her
website www.jonathabrooke.com. Fans
will be able to pre-order the CD, as well as see the video for “Linger.”
These extras should appeal to any Brooke longtime fan.
